Summary
Atsu exhales, breath shaky as she shifts her weight from foot to foot. She stretches against the restraints on her arms, testing for the millionth time how tightly her wrists and forearms are strapped against each other. The narrow wooden beam against her back is hard but thankfully softened by fabric, and she can feel it trying to stick to her sweat-slicked skin whenever she pushes against it. She blinks, purely out of habit, and the darkness stays unabating against the silk tied firmly over her eyes. She quiets her breath, trying to pick out the sounds of another presence within the room.
(PWP one-shot in which Atsu gets blindfolded and edged by Oyuki, established relationship!)

Oyuki steps through the threshold, spotting her shamisen propped against a wooden stand that Atsu had built for it.
A permanent place.
Outside, Atsu’s mother’s garden is replanted and thriving. Kiku is sorting through the flower basket, and Atsu is waiting idly for Oyuki beneath the tree, smiling softly at her approach.
The flower Oyuki had picked for her is twined within the strip of red fabric around the tuning box of Atsu’s shamisen.
Roots, before Oyuki even knew they had grown.
