Summary
It hadn’t been like, premeditated. Well, it had been in the sense that they had discussed it a bit beforehand. But it wasn’t like she had been playing the long game this whole time, trying to get into his pants.
It just sort of… happened. It was their day off, they were working on a new menu, everything they made had been shit, she started getting chippy with him, he asked her what was really going on…
So she told him.

Summary
"We did it," she says finally. Turning to him, there's so much emotion in him that it makes her cry harder.
"A star."
He says, "The first of many," and it sounds like a promise, a surprising one from someone who apparently doesn't love doing this anymore.
This is his first, too, at least the first to him that feels unspoiled because the ones at Empire were so rotten to him, she understands that now.
What is going on in his head? Is he already thinking about the next one or retaining this one? But why? That's not exactly his responsibility, it's hers. He made it hers.

Summary
“You know, I think we have this tendency to think of chaos as a bad thing. Like, if something’s chaotic it must be harmful, and it must be changed, or…ordered. But I think chaos itself is…natural, you know? The world around us thrives on chaos. Small changes make big differences. The butterfly effect, I guess. And, at its best, out of chaos comes creativity. I think it’s more about how we respond to the chaos that counts.”
“And how do I...we— How does anyone do that? Respond to the chaos?”
“I guess…learn to ride the wave, chef.”
