Summary
Zero hates his blood, Kuran’s blood, even Yuuki’s blood. He was supposed to die by a gunshot to his head, one from his master and one from himself, and neither landed. He’s a bastardized version of a vampire and a hunter to make one measly, pathetic, vampire hunter. For all his strength, he is tired and he craves rest.
It starts with shackles and pure blood dripped into his veins. It starts with self-hatred, then apathy, then remorse before slowly blossoming into love. It starts with enmity, violence, and hatred, before turning into kindness, peace, and mercy.
It starts with broken homes and broken bonds, siblings lost and alliances burned down, and it ends with a castle, a family, and friends who would die for each other.
It starts with Zero hating himself so much, he would lodge a bullet in his brain and submit to Kaname Kuran’s cruelty, and it ends with Zero in Kaname’s bed, well-fed and well-loved.
It starts with self-hatred, pain, and submission, and though it still ends with submission, it also ends with love, especially self-love.
[In other words, this is a story of Zero learning how to love himself, and realizing that others love him too (and yes, this includes the Night Class).]

Summary
With Zero having drank Kuran’s blood, he smells enough like the ex-humans the Kuran from this time turned, and they didn’t bat an eye at him joining the fighting ranks. He’s only been here for a couple weeks, and they haven’t been called to arms yet, but Zero gets a feeling it’ll happen soon.
He wonders if the Kuran ancestor is off turning more humans into vampires to replace the ones being killed right now.
The executioner goes to reload his gun, but he only puts one last bullet in it. They’re on the last unlucky ex-human of the batch, and with another gunshot, there’s no more level Es in the courtyard.
They hadn’t even been chained up. No one had guided them to the gallows. Kuran, through some freaky pureblood magic, must’ve commanded them to comply, and they did.
Everyone gets back to work.
...Or, Zero is sent back in time to when the Kuran ancestor was the Vampire King.
