Summary
“Sool is going to run the LEP into the ground. I don’t — I don’t even know how many people he owes favors — you know someone like him couldn’t have made it this far without making some promises to people with a vested interest in using LEP like their personal security team,” he threw his hands up in disgust. “I hate him, and because of that, I’m going to stick around. I’m not giving him the luxury of a team full of yes-sirs.”
“You think he’s firing Foaly,” Lili remarked bluntly, raising her gaze. Trouble leaned forward, rubbing the bridge of his nose and sighing.
Holly didn't stick around the LEP long enough to hear a half-hearted apology regarding her being accused of murdering Root. Not everyone else was lucky enough to get out, though. Sometimes you have to desperately hold onto the side of the Titanic that's up in the air, hoping that if you combine your weight with another, a change can be made. Trouble and Lili go out for coffee and reflect on the mile-high reputation that Holly Short carries with her, and friendships are made along the way.

Summary
When two witchers show up in Oxenfurt summoning Jaskier home to Lettenhove immediately, he's confused but intrigued. For one thing, Lettenhove isn't "home" - the last time he saw it, and the rest of his family, was eighteen years ago. Why is he needed there so urgently? Why is his life suddenly teeming with witchers? What's the truth about his family? Why is he in danger? Is there even a decent tailor in Lettenhove? And will he recognise real love when he sees it?
Jaskier is sure he can stretch three days to four, meaning he’ll be able to attend the ceremony at which he’ll be officially declared a Master of the Seven Liberal Arts, then disgrace himself thoroughly at the all-night party afterwards. After that, he doesn’t much mind leaving Oxenfurt. He’s not the type to hang around once a party’s over, and after four years in the city, he’s ready for new things. New people, new sights, new adventures. New things to write songs about, and new audiences to sing them to. New loves, new beds, new pleasures. He’s already bought a horse and ordered a travelling wardrobe, and while he didn’t intend Lettenhove to be the first stop on the fascinating journey of the rest of his life, it might as well be.

Summary
Peter and Morse have accidentally moved in next-door to each other, George Fancy is annoyingly new enough for them to set their differences aside, and the "Quartet" case takes their interest.
Peter shakes out a new cigarette. “Bets on this new DC taking your spot as bagman.”
Morse scowls. “He won’t.”
“The gaffer has a soft spot for newbies.” He hopes he doesn’t sound as jealous as he thinks he does.
“I think I know Fancy from when we were both in uniform,” says Strange, unsurprisingly, because Strange knows everyone. “Nice guy.”
“If he turns out to be some annoying little twit you can take him then. I’d rather suffer opera boy than some new twat.” Teaching anyone the ropes sounds like Peter’s worst idea of hell. At least Morse knows what he’s doing and does actually follow Peter’s orders, even when he doesn’t want to.
“I’m right here,” says Morse.
Peter shoots him his best withering glare. “I noticed, opera boy. You haven’t stopped clicking that fucking pen for two hours.”
Morse lifts the pen, keeping direct eye contact, and starts to click it again.

Summary
The butterfly effect: the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state.
Ianto Jones took a different direction in employment after Canary Wharf. However, there wasn't a single universe where Martha Jones wouldn't meet him.
