Summary
Alhaitham has a meltdown in the House of Daena - terrible timing, considering he's sitting right beside Kaveh. But instead of responding with judgment or treating him like a burden, his senior shields him with unexpected gentleness... and something inside Alhaitham starts to shift toward Kaveh in a way he can't quite name.
The library was never truly silent, but the air seemed to be heavier than usual with noise - pages turning, whispers rising, chairs scraping, pens scratching on parchment in an endless loop that pressed against the confines of Alhaitham’s skull and set him on edge.
The final straw was the tragic 'beep boop' of his noise-cancelling headphones’ battery shutting down. And as they powered off... Alhaitham’s pencil snapped in half with a sharp crack.
All at once, the world was unbearably loud.

Summary
Are you gloating? Are you trying to get me to leave? Kaveh wanted to ask. Do you even care?
But that was the whole point, wasn’t it? That Al-Haitham did care. That was why he found out what he did about Sachin and Kaveh’s father, and it was Kaveh who had to come to terms with the fact that he’d been wrong.
Do you regret staying with me?
Kaveh swallowed. “Even…even that. I do not regret it.”

Summary
There are noises from the kitchen, a shuffling sound of another person, vague chatter from outside that will disappear when he steps further into the house. He walks into the living room and the door to the kitchen opens; another person walks in. It's his home.

Summary
Before tonight, Al-Haitham would walk into each of these models and feel his heel hit the floor like a fork cracking through the crust of a knafeh. Each home finished represented the start of something new, was the catalyst for something beautiful. The lack of life inside would thrill him, because it meant that new life would fill it sometime soon.
There is no lack of life in this one. It’s empty, yes — bitterly so — but Al-Haitham drags his gaze down the hall to the second bedroom and knows that he will never be alone here.
Not really.
"food as a metaphor for love" except it's about a house and the metaphor is for loneliness, so not really the same thing

Summary
“Kaveh,” Alhaitham starts. “I would have been fine on my own,” he whispers, as he pulls his shirt up to expose the wound. Just as he thought. Not that bad. It still makes Kaveh grimace.
“Today is different. Did you think I forgot?” Kaveh snaps, and Alhaitham is stunned into silence. “You thought I wouldn’t notice you deciding to run off into the desert today. If I wasn’t here, you wouldn’t have noticed the bandits, and you wouldn’t have been able to fight them all off by yourself. So just– just shut up and let me wrap this wound.”
Kaveh follows Alhaitham into the desert on a particular day.
