"Please!" His voice got higher, terror clawed at his skin, and his pupils shook with barely concealed panic– a mistake. The sound drew the nightmare's attention. Joshua whimpered as the creature drew closer, its eerie red eyes fixated on him with predatory intent.
The thing rose, opening its mouth in another hiss.
He was going to be devoured.
