Dallas Winston is 21 and miserable, and he feels like all of his friends have moved on with their lives. Pony is off to college with Johnny, Soda and Steve have joined the army, Twobit is obsessed with a new girl, and there is no way in hell Dally would ever be caught dead hanging out with Darry. Dally feels angry and alone, both feelings not foreign to him, but it's hard when he feels like all his friends have left him behind. While struggling from job to job and trying not to let his depression get the best of him, Dally feels like he lost hope.
