Chapters 1-3 are the original getting together fic about Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian, and can stand alone.
Chapters 4-6 are a Wen Yuan coming of age story.In this alternate universe, WWX did not die during the first siege at the Burial Mounds, and has raised A-Yuan as his son and only disciple, living with the rest of the Wens. He does not leave Luanzang Hill, and A-Yuan meets with other sects on his behalf. The outside world has not seen him since he closed himself off within the "strongest fucking barrier known to the cultivation world." But now, with the return of ferocious corpses that the cultivation world cannot handle, the blame falls to the Yiling Laozu. LWJ has not seen WWX since rescuing him from Nightless City and confessing to him in the Demon-Salughtering Cave. He has taken WWX's distance as a rejection of his love.
