He didn't like the hours at night, just before he went to sleep, where he held tightly onto his phone and hopelessly wished Max would just reach out to him. It was the weekdays that were the worst because he laid in bed wondering what Max was up to, wherever he was in the world. He'd shoved his face into his pillow many times and cried until it hurt to even force his eyes to stay open any longer.
Why didn't Max care as much as he did? It hurt.
