Medaka looks up from his book. Something stares back at him from the doorway of the back room.
They're engulfed in darkness, their pale fingers and obscured face the only thing that manages to extend outward from the inky blackness of the dim room.
Face obscured as it is, the gaze is ominous and unmistakeable.
Medaka feels the way a stupid smile starts pulling at his cheeks. He doesn't have enough common sense to be embarrassed about it. Instead, he reaches his hand out.
