“We… forgot.”
“Oh.” A voice comes from behind them. When they spin around Dennis stands, arms hugging himself and swaying on his feet like he does when he’s tipsy. “Right. Cool. That’s fucking great.”
“Dennis.” Jack steps forward, already reaching out to their boyfriend.
Dennis takes a step back, and Santos immediately puts herself between him and Jack. “Don’t even fucking think about it.”-

After another couple moments of silence Jack holds his hand out to Dennis. “Give me your phone.”
Dennis raises an eyebrow at him. “Huh?”
“I’m not a therapist.” Jack starts. “But I have experience, and advice if you want it.”Dennis tilts his head and stares at him for a moment, before pulling out his phone and handing it to Jack with a new contact already open.

“Dr Whitaker! What are we doing here? Thought I already sent you home.” Abbot called, speedwalking towards the resident.
“Oh, hey Dr Abbot, just here to check on a patient, don’t worry” Dennis wasn’t really surprised that he had been noticed, but it happened a lot faster than he expected.
”Which one? Everyone from the day shift was stable during hand off.”
