The noise cancellation headphones help, but the hubbub of the crowd still makes it past the barrier as he tries to tune it all out.
Stress. Fatigue. The despair that takes over the lives of students once every few weeks.

Summary
Wordlessly, Jeongin picks at the edge of the patch, then peels it back slowly, from under his jaw to just above his Adam’s apple, on both sides. As soon as the adhesive leaves his skin, he sees Hyunjin’s head tilt and eyebrows raise. Hyunjin’s chest rises, drawing a deep breath of the rich, dense coffee scent that pours from the slice of skin right under Jeongin’s jaw.
Jeongin watches as Hyunjin leans forward another few inches, far enough that he’s leaning over air, mouth slightly ajar.
“I love coffee,” he murmurs, almost to himself. His eyes space out just a little bit, getting a thousand yard stare.

“I don’t get it.” He sighs, staring at the ceiling where the galaxy projector Felix got him for Christmas lights stars in the cracked paint. “Why can’t I find someone who actually likes me?”
Hyunjin follows his gaze and sighs, and leans his weight over Jeongin’s legs until his head rests on his thighs. Then he reaches an arm out, traces the patterns around the twirling stars with a slender finger. “Love won’t just fall into your lap, Jeongin.”
“It’s not like I haven’t made an effort, though. Dating apps, blind dates, organic meetings in the produce aisle. Maybe it’s me. Maybe I’m just hard to-” He swallows. “-Like.” He meant to say love, but the word weighed too heavily, like saying it out loud would reveal a fear that would turn into prophecy if he uttered it.
Hyunjin doesn’t say anything for a moment, just continues to move his index finger like a paintbrush until he closes his hand into a fist and drops it.
“Or maybe you’re looking in all the wrong places.” He suggests.

Jeongin searches far and wide for love yet fails to see what’s right in front of him.

Summary
Mid movie, an hour and five minutes in, Hyunjin realizes that Jeongin is not bored as usual but is instead paying close attention to the romance movie on screen.
“Do you think she could fall in love with both of them?” He asks as the protagonists of the love triangle are having a conversation.
“I think she has feelings for both of them already,” Hyunjin ponders. “Just differently.”
Jeongin tilts his head a little to the side and lowers his hand, putting down the popcorn he was about to eat. “What if she likes them both equally? Do you think it could work?”The first time Jeongin brings someone home Hyunjin doesn’t think much about it. He should not care about his roommate’s sex life that much. It’s hard though when Jeongin starts bringing home Seungmin and suddenly Hyunjin can’t derail his thoughts away from the way Jeongin’s arms flex when they wrap around Seungmin’s waist.
