Nick knows he shouldn't interfere with the timeline. He really shouldn't. But one look at his brothers, who had apparently not fallen asleep and were looking at the scene with a fond smile that only grew when they saw him looking at them, was enough for him to think to himself:
Fuck the fucking timeline.'
