Summary
Yeonjun left the village at sixteen.
Already newly presented as an Alpha and chosen to begin training beyond the borders. He remembers a small boy who clung to his side, all scraped knees and wide eyes, shouting about how he’d marry him someday. Beomgyu had always been a whirlwind: loud, bold, fearless. Everyone assumed he’d present as an Alpha.
But ten years is a long time.
And when Yeonjun returns, ready to take a mate, the last thing he expects is for that little boy to have grown into a sharp-tongued, distant Omega with a mouth full of thorns and eyes that no longer shine for him.

Summary

Summary
It begins creeping up on him before he can even think about it or understand it. The heat under his skin, the pulsing feeling over the sides of his neck. Beomgyu chalks it up to jet lag and exhaustion. They had been everywhere for too long. Even with a month of resting, age-old exhaustion still lingers in his bones. So he doesn't pay much attention to it.
Then, the diagnosis is clear: late presenter, omega .
Or: All his life, Beomgyu had made his peace with being a beta. Even if it means missing out on things like scents and mating marks and that sole feeling of belonging.

“It’s good though,” Yeonjun smiles weakly at Beomgyu, hoping it comes off reassuring enough. “You shouldn’t be dating anyway.”
Beomgyu’s face shifts in a moment, going lax and expressionless and then his gaze intensifies. His eyes are once again piercing and staring straight into Yeonjun with an unexpected severity he’s only seen on Beomgyu’s face a few times, none of which were directed at him.
“What is that supposed to mean?”
Beomgyu decides to move on from his unrequited crush on Yeonjun but nothing goes to plan.
