Beomgyu chalks it up to jet lag and exhaustion. They had been everywhere for too long. Even with a month of resting, age-old exhaustion still lingers in his bones. So he doesn't pay much attention to it.
Then, the diagnosis is clear: late presenter, omega .
Or: All his life, Beomgyu had made his peace with being a beta. Even if it means missing out on things like scents and mating marks and that sole feeling of belonging.

Beomgyu’s face shifts in a moment, going lax and expressionless and then his gaze intensifies. His eyes are once again piercing and staring straight into Yeonjun with an unexpected severity he’s only seen on Beomgyu’s face a few times, none of which were directed at him.
“What is that supposed to mean?”
Beomgyu decides to move on from his unrequited crush on Yeonjun but nothing goes to plan.

“It’s 2020, right?” The man suddenly asked, glancing back at him. “I’m guessing from the hair,” he added with an awkward grin, his chin tipped toward Yeonjun’s cotton-pink head.
“Yeah…” Yeonjun replied, frowning ever so slightly. Then, he almost choked on his own saliva, “wait–” he cleared his throat. “Are you saying you’re from another year?”
“Well, duh.” His older version chuckled, playfully. “Was I really this slow?” He asked, but he didn’t even sound mean, just genuinely baffled by Yeonjun’s stupidity. Somehow, that stung more.
In late 2020, while preparing for the approaching release of Minisode 1: Blue Hour, the previously quiet TXT dorm received a very special visit from no one other than Choi Yeonjun from 2025.

Sweat gets wiped off with a sleeve, but the thoughts — there’s no wiping those away. They’re still stuck in the chat, in the DMs, in that last line that read, "hyung~ if you whispered in my ear, i wouldn’t survive."
What a disaster. What a mess. What a fucking Beomgyu thing to say.

Soobin hadn’t expected that.
Beomgyu is sick, and Soobin would do anything to help him - work three jobs to pay for his medication, nurse him through his pain flare-ups, care for him during his terrible heats. But adding another mate to their relationship might be a step too far.
