Summary
In the year 2127, Humanity discovered a critical tool for its future. The existence of Magic; an additional fundamental force that could be manipulated and controlled. All acts of sorcery are backed by human effort, energetic potential, and in some cases, stranger sources of value still.
In the 2127th Sweep of the reign of Her Imperiousness, The Redeemer, Alternia made first contact with the recent space-faring race of Humanity. This would be the event that brought Humanity together to form the Gaian Republic, a unified front to protect Humanity at large from the Alternian threat with the power of Gaian sorcery.
This would be a short-lived war. The Redeemer was cut down in cold blood in her throne room, and, without her declaring an Heiress to her throne, and Gl'bgolyb strangely silent, Alternia has been brought to the near brink of civil war, as the remaining governments of both space-faring civilizations have agreed to settle their differences before anything gets worse.
Now, every Alternian faction seeks to bring an Heiress forth, and to declare themselves rightful rulers.
