Bucky and Steve are settled into a comfortable routine and things are good. Bucky is stable, for the most part. Steve and him bask in domestic bliss. Having a baby was never in their minds, and if it ever was, it’s not like it could even happen. But then it does.

Summary
Bucky doesn’t know why he does that. He doesn’t know why he always feels the impulse to make that correction—‘our baby’—because he knows it isn’t to remind Steve. Steve knows. Steve likes it very, very much.
Bucky thinks he does it to remind himself that he can be good. He has killed sixty-eight men, fourteen women, and one child. He remembers doing it. He remembers all of them.
But Steve is good. Steve is good, and Bucky is carrying Steve’s child.
That means that maybe a part of Bucky is good, too.

Pierce wouldn’t deny that the Information Age had changed the world—a Tomahawk missile cowed more efficiently when it flashed on television, after all. But, no matter how much artillery a man had to point at his enemies, he still needed his sidearm to keep his person safe. Pierce had some big guns, but he could use the Soldier to solidify his place in HYDRA, and then use that place to keep the world on track.
That, and it would be nice to be able to play without having to go to fucking Siberia.

Or: In which Connor simultaneously experiences an emotional and sexual awakening in the wake of his deviancy and handles it in the best way he can. By not telling anyone.
