He stands frozen, his breath caught in his throat, as she blinks at him, seemingly surprised to see him. Of all the scenarios that could have played out this evening, this one hadn’t even crossed his mind.

As if to carelessly reveal the one secret she’s worked so hard to keep to the one person she’d wanted to keep it from the most, the person who is currently standing at the foot of her bed with her blood on his hands.

He turned around to find she was right in front of him. “Yes?”
Of course, Yor has always been slightly unpredictable. I’ll have to—
Before he could react, she pulled on his shoulder, stood up on her toes, and gave him a peck on the cheek.
“Thanks for everything,” she said sweetly.
And then she left, humming happily as she slipped into her room. Twilight stood firmly planted in the middle of the hallway.

He couldn’t use a fax machine to save his life. There were actually many more things that came hard to him than things that came easy, but there was one thing that he never had to work at.
Han Seo was always on time.
If Han Seo had been a little late, though, if he’d arrived at work just 10 minutes later, he would’ve been too busy to take the call, and on his darkest bitterest nights, he sometimes still wishes he had.
