it was the little moments like this, that sometimes made megumi actively think, i wish he liked me back. i wish we were dating, and he could be my boyfriend, and i would be allowed to touch him whenever i want.
he was starting to crave that closeness more and more these days, and it was frankly kind of worrying. a bit scary. megumi had started feeling all kinds of new things, and it was weird. but he couldn’t help wishing that when itadori sat next to him, he would hold his hand, or lean his head on megumi’s shoulder.

he and minamoto-kun eyed each other in horror, hearing a worrying click. at least this time the lightbulb was on, albeit flickering, though sousuke didn’t exactly know if that was better, as it was doing nothing to conceal the redness on his face at the forced proximity. and even though they tried both pushing and pulling on the door, it just would not budge. maybe the only hope was to wait until someone was set to look for them and would inevitably (hopefully) find them trapped in this closet and come to sousuke’s rescue, because he was decidedly not handling this very well, thanks.

it was probably definitely creepy, when he thought about hinata’s words late at night, imagining his warm body on kageyama’s, whispering into his ear that he was good, he was special, he was incredible. it was even weirder that kageyama imagined hinata reaching out and touching him, in places that it was just not friendly to touch. it was strangest that kageyama would imagine himself touching him back, and he’d close his eyes, and be able to actually feel hinata’s comforting weight on him, telling him that he was doing so, so good, and then he suddenly couldn’t breathe anymore.

it’s weird. he probably knows it’s definitely weird, and gross, and awkward, to be having gross awkward weird thoughts about your friend. he feels a little guilty, even, and can hardly look mistuba in the eye the next day (not that mistuba gives him the chance). and being forced into being alone in close proximity to him doesn’t help these thoughts whatsoever, all it does is fuel kou’s imagination for new ones, and it’s awful, he can’t stand it, because he wishes they weren’t just in his head.

thing is, everyone knew that kageyama was weird around hinata. for the longest of times, they’d always suspected it was because hinata pissed him off, and kageyama considered him a rival. but then. the team slowly started to realise that wasn’t all there was to it. because if they payed enough attention, they’d see that kageyama always kept an eye on him from the corner of his eye; he clenched his jaw whenever hinata was talking to yachi, and when hinata needed something, kageyama was always magically right there.

and the last bit may have been said a little too loud for kageyama’s liking, but he quickly complied, confirming the fact that holding hinata’s hand was just really nice.

looking back on it, kageyama couldn't place the exact moment hinata had wormed his way into his life with that annoying bright smile and tufty orange hair. he supposed it'd happened too gradually for him to really notice, until he did.
and when he noticed, he really noticed. noticed how hinata would always steal his food and then flash him a cheeky grin, and how they'd always walk home from school together, and how hinata would always run straight to him after a match. if kageyama imagined really hard, he could see a tail attached to hinata's behind, wagging frantically whenever they locked eyes. he could almost see floppy orange ears drooping whenever kageyama scolded him.

let’s get something clear here. hanako-kun is absolutely not her type. he’s rude, he’s a pain, he’s bratty, he’s irritating, he’s pervy, and he doesn’t talk about himself. yashiro absolutely does not like him in that way; the notion is laughable. (and okay, just because hanako-kun’s eyes are a beautiful amber, and his hair is dark and tousled, and his features are simply lovely to look at, and he looks comically tall next by her side, and when his arms are around her, she feels warm...none of these things mean she likes him.)
