Back in his old town, no one—and he really means no one—has ever commented on Sakura’s scent except to tell him how laughable it is that he can have such a typical omega smell while being so brutish and un-omega-like. He’s been told he doesn’t deserve it. That his scent and demeanor are just as mismatched and unseemly as his eyes and hair. He's disgusting. Freakish.

Summary
Sakura stared back at him with wide eyes. He didn’t have to run. And if he didn’t, Suo would be required to stop, to back away and give Sakura his space, his rejection clear. And even if Sakura’s laughter made his teeth ache with the urge to mark him, Suo would back away. He couldn’t even begin to think of hurting Sakura, of trapping him into something he didn’t want. Even in the brief moment that they’d known each other, he’d been charmed by the omega’s selfless bravery. But he’d been trapped the moment Sakura had relaxed around Suo just enough to show the softer side he denied having.
OR
Suo attends the local Mating Run with zero intention of finding a mate. It doesn't go as planned.

Summary
The brush of his hand on his neck caused Sakura to shiver from pleasure. A spark of embarrassment told him to push Suo away, yet, the larger portion of him didn't want to stop. Instead, he leaned further into it, and as Suo’s hand began to scratch the baby hairs at the base of his neck, a weird vibration kicked up in his chest. It reminded him a bit of a cat, but the sound stopped when Suo’s hand froze in its tracks.
Sakura poked his head out from between his arms to blink up at Suo. He only had a second to capture the look of shock on Suo’s face before it was replaced with a gentle smile. Then, the hand started moving again, and Suo made a low sound from deep in his chest. Something about the noise soothed Sakura’s curiosity, so he laid back down and closed his eyes–the strange vibration kicking back up as soon as Sakura had settled.

Summary
Wei Ying didn’t know how he’d ended up here.
The omega was heaving in sharp gasps, shock temporarily rendering him mute — truly a feat in and of itself; a perfect representation of how utterly surprising his situation was. He was being held down easily. Firmly restrained as if he wasn’t one of the top four strongest cultivators in their generation, no matter how hard he shoved against the grip on himself his oppressor wasn’t budging at all. Leaving him staring up in a mixture of nervousness, excitement (mostly shock) and fine maybe — he could admit privately to himself — a little bit of fear at the positively enraged alpha that was restraining him.
He didn’t quite know how this happened.
