It comforts him enough that he can just look, and think about what it would be like, thinks it’s okay because it will happen, and it’s enough. As long as she’s there, it’s enough. The press of time that he knows he should feel isn’t there. It’s the one thing Frank never expected to feel again, freedom of time. And it's the one thing he didn't think he'd want again, but now he does; he wants time.
Frank thinks about how their 'after' is turning out, and meets Doris.
