Summary
Simon thought he had given his last. His last gasp, last fighting breath. He was going to be the last one to go against the beast. And he was going to die, he was dying. Alone and full of rage.
But then the light fell upon him and brought him an angel. No not an angel but something more. Now he must come to terms with the fact that he's alive. Broken but alive. And not alone anymore. Somehow, he was saved by a man named Grace and his...companion? some odd creature that was named Rocky. But did he really get out of that hell? or does the blood and the beast still have its claws in him? They have a mission of their own, to save the stars before they die, to save their planets from destruction. Simon must choose whether to fall back into the blood's echo or help them in the void of space. Maybe, just maybe he will find a home.

Grace is unprepared for the level of love that all of Erid seemed to have for him. It was vaguely terrifying, but also.... nice? To be cared for. To be wanted.
It gets worse when they find out the circumstances of him ending up on the Hail Mary.
When his declining health necessitates a trip back to Earth, he is faced with a planet that loves him so fiercely and wonderfully that it finally starts to break through his crippling lack of self worth and bloom into something incredible.

Summary
My life really isn’t too much different from how it was on Earth, if you ignore the alien planet thing. I teach, I go home, I eat dinner, I watch a movie or read a book, and I go to sleep. Rocky visits a few times a week and occasionally there’ll be data from the sun to analyze or a small issue with the biodome or the greenhouse that I need to help the team work through. I was perfectly fine with the routine on Earth, so it shouldn’t feel so… lonely, I guess.

guys please be nice to me i literally haven't written fanfic since i was in middle school and i'm almost 20 now. i forgot how to write fiction i'm basically relearning everything i had to look up how paragraph breaks work for dialogue it's infuriating. i just really like these characters and relate to them both so hard and i wanna see them be capable of loving and being loved so i can reassure myself that i can too.
