"You watched me kill myself in that labour camp."
Casey's head whips around, heart seizing in his chest. Master Donatello meets his gaze from across the room, as inscrutable as ever. He could be mistaken for bored in the way he's leaning loose-limbed against the counter, phone held in one hand and coffee cup in the other, but his eyes are sharp and dark and calculating in the low light of the kitchen, and they pin Casey in place in a way that makes the hair on the back of his neck stand up.
"What?" Casey rasps, now far, far too awake.
"You watched me kill myself," Master Donatello repeats. Curt, to the point. Disinterested. "In the labour camp. The Krang colony in Rhode Island, right?"
It's been two months and seven days after the Invasion. Casey Jones Jr. is not thinking about anything at all.

Shadow's eyelids flutter. His hand lifts to meet Sonic's at his jaw, their fingers slotting together, and Sonic's breath hitches, his chest suddenly tight. Tenderness, or the closest to it for wretched, wrecked things like them.

Summary
Shadow's gaze is a yawning eclipse, his wrath singular and livid. The consuming force of the black hole that tore through his home, void-like and relentless and hungry. Sonic sees it, feels it, that hunger, that heaving-flanked want of a weapon starved of its use. And Sonic just smiles in the face of it, eyes hooded and teeth bloodied, waiting, goading.
"Or should I make you beg for it?" he asks, voice pitching low, pitching dangerous. "Like the way you begged me to finish it."
Go ahead—finish it!
After it all, the weapon still fits in his hand.
