“Anyways,” he continued after a while, unaware of the sudden awkwardness, “what’s so special about this comet that made you drag me, of all people, out of bed this morning?”
She lit up immediately. “It’s the ATLAS comet. 3I/ATLAS if you want the proper designation. It’s interstellar, which means it didn’t form here, it came from outside. That alone makes it stupidly important. Also, it’s bright enough to be visible without any special equipment, which basically never happens.”
Scaramouche nodded slowly, a grin slowly forming on his face as an idea made its way into his brain. “So,” he retorted, dragging the word out, “it flew all the way here from outside the solar system just to be greeted by Mona Megistus.”
“Yep,” Mona replied, a prideful expression on her face. “By me. The greatest astrophysicist in Teyvat.”
He snorted. “That’s tragic. Not to mention egotistical on your part.”
