    Linhardt moves to pull away and Catherine throws a hand out. Her fingers curl into his dirty, soiled robes and she yanks him close.

    It’s been a long time since he last kissed a person, and their lips were soft. Catherine’s lips are cracked and her breath is warm. Linhardt kisses her back without a thought, shocking her, dragging a soft moan from her mouth. The pause, parting briefly. He bites his lip, and her gaze drops to his mouth to watch.

    She pushes him and Linhardt falls back against the bed. She climbs overtop, straddling his hips, hanging over him with hesitation. And then: “Is this alright?”
