Summary
They never talked about it. It was something of a wordless agreement among the both of them. When they passed the venue on late night drives back from a gig, or a walk while on a night on the town, Min always saw that sort of wistful look in his eyes. He almost looked discouraged when they would pass it. Min wasn’t sure what he would say to him, anyway. Of course, he wanted the same thing, probably as much as Ryan, but there was still a pit in his stomach that never quite went away when he thought about the crowd at a place like that.

Summary
Years after the launch, an old friend of Grace's is investigating some details of the Project. She finds Carl. They talk.
Featuring a perfectly innocent crush, someone to be brave for, a healthy amount of nerding out about physics and the Soviet space program, and references to a certain movie about boxers.
---
“You bake?” R., genuinely incredulous, at the kitchen door at seven in the morning, glasses hanging on his ear. “You carry a gun and you bake.” And Carl said, “The gun’s mostly for people who touch the starter.”

"Did I say something wrong?" Adrian asks, stepping towards him again. "Grace?"
He sucks in a harsh breath and blinks, turning his head away and hanging it low, near his chest. "Jesus…”
"Grace?”
"Sorry," his head pops up again, and his heart seems to be fighting to calm down. "Sorry, just—woof. That's the most intense déjà vu I've had in a minute."
OR
Adrian joins Grace on a sea glass hunt. Human brains get weird and gentle feelings are shared.

Summary
Badeni had only himself to blame for this predicament. If he’d never flipped open the cover of Oczy’s book, driven by incredulous curiosity, if he’d never skimmed that first page, and then read it again and again, increasingly unbalanced by the spread of sincere words in an awkward hand, he would never have known what was churning away in that inexplicable man’s head. He’d never have known just how much their meeting had meant.
