Being an older brother was not what Arthur thought it was going to be. I mean he figured he was going to have to take care of little Johnny Marston, the raccoon-feral kid Dutch had taken a shine to after literally saving his neck. What Arthur didn’t factor into the equation was the extra responsibility he was picking up by just putting up with the tween.
When John goes missing, Arthur has to brush off his own injuries to find him. But when he succumbs to the exhaustion, he's completely alone. Hosea and Dutch find him... but almost before it's too late.

Hosea had hoped Dutch would find him, and now he hoped the other man would let himself be found in turn. He knew why Dutch was there, what he needed, but things were different now. He would give Dutch everything, he always did, but this time he needed to hear Dutch ask.
Hosea waited, gently coaxing Dutch with soft touches, rubbing his thumb over his cheek. With a trembling Dutch in his arms, his resolve was wearing thin, every instinct screaming for him to soothe, to help, to give in and give anything the other man needed from him. With a deep breath, Hosea closed his eyes and touched his forehead to Dutch’s. "Let me," he repeated.
Or: Fix-it of sorts where Hosea is the voice of reason, and Dutch is, for once, willing to listen to him.

Ellie's head snaps up and over to where a girl's voice comes from, and she immediately regrets it when the world sways and her vision blurs.
"You're that girl from Jackson," the girl's bleary lips move, forming words that take Ellie a second to process. The name of Ellie's hometown back in Wyoming rings alarms in her head. How the fuck would anyone know that? She squints her eyes further, desperately trying to see who is chained up to the wall opposite from her. Is it one of Abby's friends? That's the only way someone would remember her.
When Ellie finally gets a good look at the girl's face, her heart pounds and her skin boils as white-hot rage floods through her body.
It's her.
"Abby." The name spills from Ellie's lips, sounding like a threat. She doesn't say her name with any ounce of uncertainty. She knows it's her. How could she ever forget that face? The face of Joel's killer that has haunted her nightmares for months.
