She swallows to hide her accidental slip-up.
“I mean, I’d prefer to work alone, Professor.”
“I’m sorry, Miss Saltzman,” Vardemus tells her, not sounding very apologetic at all. “I can’t allow you to do that, I’m afraid. The majority of the work in my class is partnered. There will be no trades, no exceptions. Unless, of course, in extremely extenuating circumstances.”
Josie holds back a sigh. Is Hope Mikaelson not an extremely extenuating circumstance?

Summer in the Hamptons – set around the end of Kate’s first year at uni. Yelena is a lifeguard on a visa, trying to extend her case to stay for the summer and continue her scholarship. Kate has escaped to their summer home (very rich of her, I know) to avoid talking about her program switch Eleanor will hear about any moment and get some R&R before her next archery circuit. Kate takes a liking to the lifeguard and is entirely too dramatic in gaining her attention.
