Lilith had lived the torment of childbirth several times now – each time delivering the baby dead. It was her curse…and now she hoped it wouldn’t be his. Well, at least the baby was still moving inside him…so if it survived the birth…she did not want to get her hopes up too high. Lucifer’s hopes were high enough for them both. What she had not accounted for was that Lucifer would be a terrible sufferer. He had watched her go through this…he was well warned it would not be a joy to endure. They had discussed the risks and the what-ifs time and time again…but she had a suspicion he had taken none of that seriously until the present moment.
