Summary
As one of the most traumatic years of Henry’s life comes to a close, he can at least say his relationship with Alex has never been stronger. They’re living together, enjoying their new engagement in private, and—most importantly—Alex’s health is steadily improving.
But while Alex is moving forward and prepares to return to law school in January, Henry feels stuck. The pressure of keeping the shelters running and his stalled battle for freedom from the Palace is suffocating. And despite Alex’s progress, Henry’s insomnia and nightmares have resurfaced, driven by a constant fear that something will go wrong.
When Henry is summoned back to the UK for Christmas, and he's forced to leave Alex behind, his anxiety spirals out of control. As he faces off with his grandmother and tries to fight for his independence, Henry's obsession with Alex’s well-being seems to blind him to the deeper issue at hand - his own unresolved trauma. With his strength faltering, Henry has to decide if he can truly break free—not just from the Palace, but from the fear that’s been holding him captive.

Summary

Navigating parenthood, self-discovery, and self-worth, can Alex and Henry find the same orbit?

Alex’s mornings start the same way now.
Once, in law school, it would have been: wake up, consume enough caffeine to fund a small country, get in a last minute cram, and maybe kiss his then-girlfriend goodbye to get in extra time in the library.

Infants, Henry knows, have cries designed to make sure they are noticed because they need other humans to help the person who’s given birth. This is a thing that Henry knows, it’s something the shelter learned in getting qualified for him and Pez to qualify as a Safe Haven in New York. -

Henry took a deep breath. He placed the coffee mug on the desk and strode across the room. He was slightly interrupted by David’s yelp, but after nudging the dog to the side, he pulled Alex into a tight hug. Alex clung to him like a lifeline.
“It’s not stupid,” Henry murmured into Alex’s shoulder. “I promise it’s not.”
Alex shook in his arms.

Summary
bestman!henry, and weddingplanner!alex.
In which Philip is getting married and asks Henry to be his best man. Henry very reluctantly agrees, but what he absolutely does not agree to is being the one stuck dealing with all of the tasks that Philip “simply does not have time for.”
The one thing that his brother did manage to do was hire a wedding planner, Alex, who's not only extremely charming and, well…much too handsome than what should be considered humanly possible but who, for some reason, seems to be doing everything in his power to make the situation more bearable for Henry. What starts out as a bond over their mutual annoyance with Philip and his outrageous requests turns into something completely unexpected and much deeper, and for once, Henry might just have to indulge himself.
