Summary
The Maverick Hunters have had relative peace since the fall of Repliforce, and Mavericks as a whole have died down significantly. X and Zero get some much-needed rest as Zero recovers from the loss of Iris. X tries to work up the guts to confess his feelings to Zero, along with figuring out what he's been doing during their downtime.

Zero was silent, aside from his ragged breathing. Silent. Even if he could have physically spoken without spitting out a mouthful of synthetic blood, he would have remained silent. There was nothing for him to say.
