Summary
After his father's disappearance, Sans inherits his studies and joins the Scientists to study timelines. His old man who split himself across space and time begins to show up in dreams. Sans is hopeful to see him again, but...
He dreams at night of Father. Everyone does. Those who mourn him create memories in the living; but Father was not especially visible and Sans is not one to draw attention either. Save it for better futures. No, the dreams of Father seen in reports are black liquid touch, inkdyed bones, monochrome memories, pieced together in lots of individual brains into an incoherent whole. The gray Scientists discard the dream reports. Whatever shatter shows up in the downtime of sleep produced only shards unable to be put back together.
