Lucy Carlyle stood in front of the kettle in the comfortable kitchen of 35 Portland Row and felt completely at ease. An air of normality had finally settled on her, and she could now say with some certainty that this was her home as much as it was Lockwood’s or George’s. She had yet to admit how much she cared for the boys but the three of them had easily fallen into a rhythm. They had found themselves creating routines around each other, adapting to their quirks and Lucy was beginning to feel a sense of belonging.
