Summary
The four-by-four heaves its way down long, twisting lanes, little more than dirt tracks scuffed into the surrounding fields and hemmed in by serpentine walls of flat, grey stone. They truly are in the middle of nowhere: the countryside rushes past, all rolling green hills and vast, endless skies, and it's odious. Sirius wants to murder James with his bare hands.
Sirius and James accidentally find themselves on a Yorkshire farm during lambing season. The farmer’s son thinks that’s a bit annoying, actually.

Summary
“Oh, Moonikins, there’s a whole lotta old magic that could bind you two tighter together than any traditional wedding ceremony. You know that Padfoot’s completely over the moon for you and he’s just scared that he’ll pressure you, yeah?”
“Over the moon, har fucking har,” Remus huffed into his cup of tea in a long-suffering tone well-honed on James Potter’s horrendous early morning jokes. On November 22nd, 1980, Remus Lupin gets his left leg almost clawed off by his personal nightmare Fenrir Greyback. The aftermath has Sirius and James reeling with the realization that he has been carrying out trips to various werewolf packs for Dumbledore, not running off to Voldemort's shadows, along with all the consequences following thereafter.
The path branches off the trodden road between the stars, and perhaps, this is the start of a kinder future for all of them.Bookmarked by ell01

Summary
Remus Lupin has had a rough time landing on his feet anywhere, but when he gets new foster parents, Fleamont and Euphemia Potter, everything changes. The 16 year old Michigan native gets the chance to attend Black Lake Prep in California with his new foster parents son, opening doors for him. It's his chance to learn with the smartest, but it's also his chance to finally open up to others. Between Friday night football games, prank wars, rigorous course works, and weird mind games, he manages to find new friends and maybe even a few romantic entanglements.

Summary
“What do you want me to do?” Remus says, tiredly. All he wants is to curl up on his bed. Smoke a pack of cigarettes. Get drunk. He can’t stop looking at Harry.
“Remus...” Dumbledore is gentle. Remus hates when he has that tone. Hates that he knows it will hurt. “There is no one else left.”
A bitter laugh escapes him. “So you’ll curse the poor thing with a werewolf for a guardian?”

Summary
Sirius studied Remus’ face. He was curious what he thought of all of this, the only one of them who didn’t have a mark– theoretically– and the only one with a muggle parent. Muggles didn’t get marks, he knew. If Remus’ parents were soulmates, then they wouldn’t know it. He wondered if there was a way to tell, though. If they could just feel it, somehow, even without the help of some magical fate.
Because it seemed like something you would just know, just from being near someone, from being close enough to them, from being in the same space. Like their souls would attract like magnets or like water droplets traveling down a window, waiting to merge until the last moment when they realized they were on the same path, and then they’d become one.
Was that fate, Sirius wondered?
He realized Remus was staring back at him, his eyes puzzled and curious and warm.
Sirius looked away first and didn’t look back, pushing down something heavy and impossible in his chest.
