Summary
All James wants is to get back at Lily, his on-again-off-again girlfriend. Maybe his best friend’s brother and his sworn enemy isn’t the right choice for that.
All Regulus wants is to win his family home from Narcissa in a battle of inheritance. James Potter is the key to doing that. So what if he uses James? Regulus is being used as well.
A dare, a debt, a family feud, and a few fistfights later, someone falls in love. Everything falls apart.
Still, it turns out the love they seek can be found in the strangest of places.
“You're doing what wrong?”
“…Life. Is this how it should be, blacking out every weekend, sleeping around recklessly? Coasting by from one numbing minute to the next?”
Smoke spilled from Barty’s mouth, and he looked over at Regulus, his eyes unreadable. “People like us don’t have the privilege of doing it another way, do we?”
Regulus paused at that. “Who are people like us?” he asked, his voice faint.
“Damaged, fucked up people. We didn’t grow up normal. We don’t get to be normal now.”

Summary
Maybe he just needs to meet the right person. That’ll help with the giant best friend-shaped hole in his chest. He clicks the end of his pen and writes:
I’ll meet the love of my life tomorrow.
Or, Buck's journal grants wishes. It's not his fault that the only things he wants are the things he can't have.

Summary
“This isn’t my life!” Buck exclaims. “This is not how it’s supposed to be. Abby is supposed to be gone. She’s supposed to have left. As in, left Los Angeles, not left me to marry Bobby. Bobby’s supposed to marry Athena.”
“Cap and Athena? But she’s—”
“Married. Yeah,” Buck huffs. “Like I said, that doesn’t work out.”
“Because Real Michael is gay?” Eddie asks skeptically.
“Real Michael is gay,” Buck confirms.
OR: After his break up with Tommy, Buck falls asleep on Eddie’s couch and wakes up in a world where Bobby is married to Abby, Hen and Karen are divorced, Athena and Michael are faking a happy marriage, Chim has a daughter that is not Buck's niece, and—just to really, personally fuck with him—Eddie and Maddie are engaged to be married.

Summary
The thing about hearing Buck’s thoughts is that Buck thinks about Eddie a lot.
Not in a weird way — just, well, it is a lot. Pretty regularly, in fact.
or: Eddie can read Buck’s mind. He has conflicting feelings about that.

Summary
“Rise and shine, Edmundo!” Buck cheers from the doorway to the bunk room. “You’re last up for breakfast, Cap made French toast and bacon!”
Eddie blinks. Not the previous day, then—Buck is alive. A dream? Eddie didn’t usually have vivid dreams, and none as realistic as that, but there’s no other way to explain…
Wait, was Buck playing this same song in his dream? Eddie swears he’s never heard it before, but he also swears he heard it then, so surely…
“Hey, you good?” Buck says, taking a couple steps closer, eyebrows furrowed in concern. He pauses the music on his phone. “Look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
---
Or, Eddie gets stuck in a time loop. Buck dies, a lot.
