Summary
We do not know when the sadness in our hearts will call death to us. We must only wait for his cold touch, and the pleasure of his kiss, wherever and whenever it might occur. This, Elisabeth, knows well.

Summary
Her life had lost all meaning. That is what Mallory Lamombières believed as she stood at the gallows, moments away from being hung for a crime that although she may have committed, it was with a weapon that she would be the last person to believe she possessed--magic. She may have been the daughter of a dead witch, and a ghost of a man; but Mallory knew that at twenty she was past the age of one’s magic arising to be part of the Harvesting to study at the Laleun Royal Academy of Witchcraft. It is through this process that they were all kept safe. Alive. Yet, she’d murdered a wine merchant’s son. That the body was in pieces, strewn about her home like a child’s painting, and was barely recognizable. As if an animal had torn him apart. And as Mallory remembered the sweet tang of the man’s blood, she wondered if they weren’t wrong. However, soon she is rescued from death and sent to that very Academy. But not is all as it seems within its halls, for it is there that the walls bleed magic, and lies could be breathed from their commonness. They say that a beast lives beneath the castle, and sometimes at midnight, you may even hear its cries. Only, it is Mallory who fears that the beast is not what they should fear--but her.

Summary
Charcoal gray eyes slid up and down Bum’s form, and he could feel a blush bloom all over his face, and ears, and even down to his chest from it. The look in Sangwoo’s eyes was akin to the moment before an ember turned into a full force flame; and Bum knew for a fact that whatever Sangwoo had in plan for him was going to make him burn.

Summary
“Greetings all. I would first and foremost like to congratulate you on having made it this far. You have lived until your twenty-second year, and by law and tradition you are all now eligible to take the Eientheru, the Rite of Becoming, to prove to Elohim and our society that you are all now worthy of being call angels grown.” He paused and smiled as he continued, but there was a quality to it that Sangwoo couldn’t figure out. He was almost inclined to say that it was pity.
------
Bum knew that it was still day, but what happened before him seemed to be something more akin to what would happen out of a wives’ tale that his Grandmother would tell him as a child. In the very center of the churning pool of colors in the sky appeared what looked to Bum’s eyes to be a star! It was a brilliant ball of white and gold, and from where Bum stood, was only as big as his fist, but before he could even process what he was seeing properly it started to fall, and that’s when awe turned to ice cold fear, because it was falling fast, and hard, and so, so close.
The very first thing that Bum thought was, ‘It’s going to fall in the valley’, and then a split second later, ‘We’re all going to die’. -

Summary
Instead of trying to make a futile escape, Sangwoo should’ve been paying attention, because before he knew it he heard the creak of the bedroom door open up, and the faint humming transforming into singing. It was Bum’s voice, but it was the words of the song that drew Sangwoo up short from yelling into the darkness at him. Instead, for one of the rare points in his adult life since the death of his parents, Sangwoo wanted to curl up and hide. From Bum of all people.

Summary
'When Hinata woke in the evening, he half expected to see the wild man mysteriously gone, as though he'd never been there in the first place.
But instead, there he lay, fast asleep. Shafts of deep golden sunlight fell across the man's sleeping form, and Hinata stared at him, transfixed. He had long, dark lashes and a finely shaped, straight nose, and low cheekbones with a proud jawline, all of which started to fill out some sort of stereotypical profile for a rugged jungle king.
If ever there had been someone created to survive the unforgiving landscape of the jungle, it was him.'
--
The rainforest expedition is to last a full year—365 days of living under the lush canopy of trees.
Danger looms. Adventure awaits. The jungle calls. Hinata Shouyou has never wanted anything more.
Or so he thinks, until he meets a curious stranger there, who shows him what it means to be truly needed.

Summary
But that’s the whole reason he’s here, isn’t it? He’s not out here hunting Humans. He’s not even hunting deer, or bears, or anything else that featured in Bambi. He’s out here, freezing his nuts off every night, because he’s hunting Angels.
Sometimes Dean wishes that Angels were like how they’re described in the Bible. How people from time too old for him to care much about thought Angels were messengers and warriors of God, protectors of Humans. He knows that how they’re really described in the Bible is actually pretty terrifying, but at least they were told by God that they’re supposed to love Humans, right?
That’s a thousand times better than what Angels really turned out to be.
