Summary
“Kimi! How are we doing?” George floats into the room as if he were made out of bricks.
They saw each other about an hour ago and had the exact same exchange. Back then, George’s eyes had crinkled when he had seen Kimi and handed him a warm coffee, with a splash of cream and two sugars. Now, George has his lips peeled back to show off his teeth, eyes burrowing unblinkingly into Kimi.
Kimi stares back. In fear. “Um.”

Summary
Miguel had no spider sense. He had heard rambling accounts of the sense through Peter, and clinical dissections of the sensation through Jess, and never quite understood either of them. He simply assumed that he never would, that it would be another thing setting him apart from the rest. But now, with the dread reverberating through his nervous system, the a priori knowledge settling like a funeral in his chest—he understood the spider sense now. “Who– who are you?” Miguel asked, the answer already a stone underneath his tongue.
Slowly, the Spiderman lowered his hood and pulled off his mask. He was definitely older, no longer the gangly kid that Miguel had met. Instead, he had gone ahead and grown into himself, a full blown adult, an equal. His face was more chiseled, the baby fat mostly gone. Braids now ran down his scalp, framing his face. But the deep brown eyes were the same, that same spark burned bright.
“I’m Miles Morales. I was bitten by a radioactive spider. And you,” Miles Morales tilted his head.
“You killed my father.”

Summary
A little bit poetry, a little bit prose: an exploration in six parts of the relationship between two tightly linked souls, a meaningful life (cut too short) which they shared, and another instance of timeline intersection.
Which is a really fancy way of saying that this fic is sort of a study of character and emotion rather than a story precisely.
Sixsmith's POV.

In the woods, Laura appears to her, hair matted, dirt on her skin, blood in her mouth. She screams, does not stop screaming until Donna's screams merge with her own, and she is awake and crying and crying and crying -
You loved me, Laura says to her, voice full of scorn. You loved me, and still you did nothing.

Summary
Nacho thinks about the peasants somewhere at the crest of South America; smiling peasant families digging their hands into the dirt, planting coca plants in little green rows. Planting and toiling under the gunfire and smoke, so that some distant gringo lawyer can snort his second wind off a bathroom sink; so a college kid can get a better lay. So that he can sit here, in his big house, having dinner with his asshole boss, and feel like shit.

Summary
The picturesque village of Buell, Maine is one of the last in the United States to continue the tradition of the “harvest” or “prosperity” lottery. Its residents insist the lottery makes them stronger, even as condemnation from outsiders grows.
