Summary
“Park,” Jungwon says, and his tone makes it seem like he’s got something big that he’s fighting to keep from bursting his mouth. “Just curious — have you checked your phone at all today?”
“Um,” Jay replies, mouth full of oatmeal. “I think you already know the answer to that.” Shockingly, he actually doesn’t want to hear his mom going on about the latest child of a friend she’s set him up with, or all the character flaws he needs to hide on the date they both know will never actually happen because of Jay’s insane travel schedule, never mind his complete lack of desire to date.
“Well,” Jungwon’s responds, “for once in your life, you might want to.”
Jay’s brows furrow with confusion. He taps on a preview of his instagram notifications and scrolls through the likes and comments. Then, he keeps scrolling. And keeps scrolling. And —
“Um, Jungwon,” Jay says, words coming out just as slowly as he’s processing the whole situation. “Who the fuck is Park Sunghoon?”
Jay is a freelance photojournalist. He snaps a pic of a random man in the City of Love. Apparently that man is figure skater Park Sunghoon, and now, everyone thinks they’re dating?

Summary
Sunoo’s dropped the ball.
Because, see, if he was on the ball, he would have known spooky season started two months ago (true spooky season enthusiasts know). His apartment would be decorated by now with at least two skeletons, he would have purchased at least three bags of candy to hand out to children, and he would have brainstormed at least four costumes he could wear for every Halloweekend party he’s planning to attend. Most importantly, though, he would have already started preparing for the scary movie night he has with Sunghoon every year since they first met three years ago.
This year, Sunoo truly doesn’t know what happened. He’d gotten caught up in his annual family vacation, and then work started picking up, and then there was the typical whirlwind of summer weddings, and now it’s September and Halloween is around the corner and, although Sunoo has been busy, Sunghoon hasn’t stepped up to initiate planning for their annual tradition at all.
Which is why he needs Jungwon’s advice.
“Be honest, Jungwon. Do you think he wants to break up with me?”

Jake fucking loves lists. The latest five pages of his most recently acquired notebook — a cute albeit sadly wide-ruled Koya memo pad from the LINE store — read, as follows:
- songs to practice in karaoke to look cool in front of heeseung hyung
- things my tiktok algorithm thinks i should get tested for
- names for layla’s babies, since i’m not fucking having any — who tf is bringing life into this dying world??
- drake lyrics that changed my life
- cool dating app conversation openers
Something — or someone — he doesn’t like right now? Riki. Riki might have made it onto the love list yesterday, but today? Today has Jake slamming his hand onto the dining hall table Riki is currently sitting at and violently shaking his phone in his face.
“WHAT DID YOU DO?” Jake wails.
Jake loves lists. Jake also loves Jay and Sunghoon. How will these loves intersect? Just ask Nishimura Riki.

Summary
When people find out what Jungwon does for a living, they tend to have a lot of questions. After all, how does an applied mathematics major end up the youngest producer to ever work on The Bachelor — and barely before the ink on his bachelor’s degree has had the chance to dry?
The truth is that these shows follow a formula. By now, he likes to think he’s fully mastered what he’s affectionately dubbed The Bachelor Theorem. Not much fazes him at this point — especially this season, which will center on the one and only Sunghoon Park, the Korean American ice skater who won silver at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Jungwon literally gets paid to click every single link on Sunghoon’s Wikipedia page in order to gain a total knowledge of this season’s newest bachelor, and after falling down the YouTube rabbit hole and ending up on a video of the man doing a “Which Stranger Things Character Are You?” BuzzFeed quiz, what he knows is that Sunghoon is a very traditional, straight-laced guy.
A traditional, straight-laced guy who’s probably looking for an equally traditional, equally straight-laced partner. Easy.

Summary
The greatest tragedy of Sunoo’s life is that no one has ever bothered to tell Jake that he’s not funny.
Maybe, if just one singular brave soul had stepped up to the plate to break the truth to Jake before today, Sunoo wouldn’t be smiling nervously in the middle of a crowded rose garden with his idiotic boyfriend on one knee in front of him, hands cupped to hide the object within from Sunoo’s view.
“Hyung,” Sunoo says through clenched teeth. He tries to convey a frantic get the fuck up right now please for the love of god with an intense stare, but the complex art of reading Sunoo’s eyes can take a lifetime to learn, and Jake was never a literature kind of guy.
“Sunoo,” Jake replies. His obnoxiously huge mouth forms a wide, gleeful grin. “I’ve got something for you.”
Or, four times Jake kneels for Sunoo and one time Sunoo beats him to the punch.

Summary
“Yeah, sorry this is so sudden, um…” He looked extremely flustered, even more flustered than when he tried to teach him how to use the milk frother earlier that morning. He looked down at his feet, then back up at him. “Um, was this a bad time?”
Jake shook his head, false confidence starting to slip away. “Of course not, why would it be?”
Sunghoon was wary. “Because, uh,” he took an index finger and slid it from his eye and down his cheek in one smooth motion. Jake nodded in realization.
“Oh, yeah, the tears,” he shrugged. “It happens all the time, you’re good.”
Sunghoon nodded cautiously. “All...the time?”

Summary
The boy’s lashes trembled over dark, depthless eyes. His hair fell in bright arcing strands over his forehead, kissing the sharp line of his cheekbones. His eyes had been laughing and pleased at first, but now they looked sombre, and Sunwoo’s heart broke for whatever he did to disappoint him. He wanted to fall to his knees and touch the boy’s hands. He wanted –
“Sit down, Sunwoo,” Kevin said, sounding panicked. “Holy shit, Chanhee, turn it off.”

Summary
The two of them get engaged the summer after graduation. The announcement makes front page news in the Korean Herald and Hyunjin’s mom puts a clipping of it on the fridge right next to a copy of Seungmin’s senior thesis paper and acceptance letter into Harvard Business School. It’s the first time Hyunjin’s ever been featured there post-elementary school, when his macaroni art was just slightly more advanced than the other kids in his class, and the sight of it leaves a bitter taste in his mouth because he did nothing to deserve the spot of honor. Unless the culmination of his life’s success is simply marrying Kim Seungmin.
Hyunjin’s tasked with picking out their engagement rings, a pair of golden Tiffany bands. He sends Seungmin’s to him in the mail. His mom has to text Hyunjin the address. He doesn’t have Seungmin’s number saved in his phone.
