"Bokuto-san," he calls out suddenly. Akaashi feels like he's a star too, bright and happy, as if he and Bokuto could be a new kind of romantic constellation, created just for the two of them, attracting attention and spreading warmth whenever they were.
But a hard, sad, and heavy realization dawns on him: only Bokuto is a star, and stars burn and consume anything that gets too close to them.
And Akaashi… Akaashi is only human. Small, frail, and so distant from Bokuto, he can't even look at him without his eyes burning, as easily consumed by the fire that is Bokuto as anyone.
