Felix was alive, with his own head on his own body. By his logic, that meant Faux should be allowed the same — eye for an eye.
Cyber justified his actions as he sifted through the mangled heap of metal and wires in the depths of lower Mataan, pulling Faux's head from the wreckage. Unconscious, but still warm with life.
He felt a dizzying mixture of anger, at the sincerity which Faux believed his purpose rendered his sadism excusable, and sympathy, pulling sickly at his gut and begging to cling to the intimacy they once shared.
He knew Faux better than that. That the man he had loved was not the monster he had made himself to be — that's what he told himself, at least, as he held Faux's head in an arm, using his free hand to retrieve his phone and quickly send Flesh Prince a text.

Ethan breathes in, sharply: Heisenberg's wandering hands have made it all the way up to his inseam. It's getting very, very hard to concentrate on what the man's saying anymore.
"Still," Heisenberg goes on, something speculative entering his tone, "those fine principles of yours cut both ways." And fuck, it's happening—he's cupping Ethan through his pants. Through the red haze overtaking Ethan's brain, he barely makes out the words, "I'm willing to bet a fine hero like yourself won't be able to kill someone he's been intimate with, for a start."

Who keeps calling him up over unseen video feeds and taunting Ethan with a lazy drawl of someone who's probably taking this call with one hand in his pants, and whose every word to Ethan promises that he knows. He knows, and he likes it. And he might just be convinced to play along.
It's exactly the last thing Ethan needs.

"Heisenberg?!" Ethan lowers his gun, feeling suddenly, horribly tired. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Nice to see you too, Ethan." Ethan's first name practically drips out of Heisenberg's mouth. He's been using a dinner plate as an ashtray, Ethan notices—the kind of minor detail the mind focuses on in moments of extreme stress (god, he's probably lucky the bastard bothered to find himself an ashtray at all).
But Heisenberg's still talking: "Dropped by, you weren't home, so I let myself in. Wouldn't want me loitering around your porch, bringing down the neighbourhood, would you?"
Ethan grits his teeth. He'd actually forgotten just how annoying Heisenberg could be. "Which still doesn't explain what the hell you're doing here."
