He jogs to the Jeep, determined to get out of there, the weight on his chest immobilizing. Is this what a panic attack felt like? He vaguely remembers something Eddie said about it feeling like a heart attack. Eddie. He loses it. Heaving trying to catch his breath and unable to do so. Tears fall from his eyes without his permission and he feels stupid. Stupid because he has no right to be acting like this.
He knew it was all in good fun. They’d talked about it, how the flirting they were doing was just a game. To see who could get the other to laugh first or blush the hardest. So what if it was never a game to Buck? If every word he’d said was dead serious. That doesn’t mean it was serious to Eddie, despite letting himself believe it was.OR
Buck can't communicate and loving Eddie is quite possibly the thing that will kill him.
