Summary
They had a blanket tossed over them, Buck’s knees knocking into Eddie’s every few minutes, a slow and gentle ease to their silent companionship that they had perfected over the years. It was a glimpse into a future Eddie could only dream of. One where he could have Buck and love him, and still get to keep him.
He lets himself enjoy this- this makeshift family time that has carved a steady place into his fractured heart. He would protect this the way he would protect Buck; carefully and delicately until he knew what to do with it. He would make this work.
And that night, before he hit the bunks when he texted Christopher his nightly goodnight, I love you, he received one back for the first time since he left.
Goodnight, dad. Love you.
Or: Christopher leaves, Eddie tries to move forward.

Summary
He ignores it all to focus on the way Buck feels against him; like he just fits into whatever empty space Eddie leaves. He’s pretty sure, and he might have to wait for confirmation from Buck before putting his entire fractured heart on the line, but he’s pretty sure that Buck wants this with him. That he’s giving Eddie time and space to warm up to the idea of the two of them, that he’s waiting for Eddie to want it, too.
(He does, he does, he does.)
or: Buck and Eddie host the holidays together because they are in love and everybody knows it, including them. But they haven't acknowledged it. At least, not yet.

Summary
“I mean, I’m not gonna lie it…it sucked and I’d definitely prefer it if you never did that to me again, but I forgive you.”
Jason nods quietly, unsure of what to say, unsure of how to take this fragile gift and keep it whole when all he’s ever known since he came back was how to destroy.
“You should come home, Jay,” Tim says as if it’s an option, and Jason snorts loudly. “Everyone misses you.”

Or; Jason reads poetry. Jason wants to go home. These are not correlated except when they are. -

Summary
The man sighs, and continues to pick at his nails. “Look kid,” he says with the same bored and exasperated tone, “I already told you. We’re all sold out, what do you want me to do? Magically produce-” But his tongue seems to get stuck in his throat when he finally looks up to meet Zuko’s eyes. The man falls out of his chair and immediately throws himself into an awkward bow. “Firelord Zuko!"
Or; somehow Ambassador Sokka has managed to convince Firelord Zuko to sneak out of the palace for a night. They end up wandering the street markets and attending Love Amongst the Dragons, where Zuko lies to himself that keeping Sokka at arms length is all he wants.

Summary
The thing is, Zuko is an enigma.
He’s a walking contradiction; he always has been.
The war inside him may have been fought, the battles won, but the smoldering ruins from the heavy blasts still linger hot and heavy in his chest.

Summary
[Time passes oddly. Between one second and the next, Sokka has the Fire Lord pinned to the wall with his hands around the bastard’s throat. Golden eyes (one gold eye, his mind whispers) widen in shock.
“Sokka?” he chokes out. And then he smiles.
What the fuck?
“Sokka, I—”
Sokka slams his head against the wall, once, twice, and the smile wipes off his face. Good.
“What,” Sokka bites out, “have you done to my sister?”]
Or:
An injury leaves Sokka with amnesia. His last memory is of the failed invasion, of leaving his father behind in enemy territory on the Day of Black Sun. Of hopelessness. Rage.
But then he wakes up, and the war is over. Suddenly, he must come to terms with the fact that years have passed, and that he's somehow the Southern Water Tribe Ambassador to the Fire Nation. He is also supposedly friends with banished-Prince-turned-Fire-Lord Zuko, of all people. Close friends.
Yeah, nah.

Summary
Professor Branwen and Professor Ebi have always been at each others' throats. Sure, when you tend to teach different sections of the same class, your opinions will vary, but honestly there's nothing those two have in common at all. During office hours, random encounters in the hall, even the occasional remarks in class are always pointed.
So then...why was Professor Branwen leaving Professor Ebi's house?
