Summary
“Just listen to me first before you decide to run off, for the love of god.”
“Not religious,” Wriothesley snarks.
“Neither am I, but you do have ears don’t you?”
Wriothesley collects his coat, not even bothering to respond to Neuvillette as he turns around and starts to head for the entrance.
“It’s not for very long, and it shouldn’t be particularly hard. People never even realize what I am, and by the time they do, I’m already long gone. And I’m not helpless, either. I know how to defend myself, I just… I require some extra help right now-”
“And you thought I was the right pick?” Wriothesley says, shoving his shoulder against the entryway door and pushing it open. He doesn’t hold the door for Neuvillette, letting it nearly hit the other in the face.
“You have a reputation for being strong, so yes, I did think you were the right pick. I’m starting to disagree with that idea now, however.”

Summary
Finding a Faerie on death's door in the middle of the woods wasn't exactly on Childe's to-do list.
Especially while trekking out into the middle of the worst blizzard in a decade looking for any sort of food.
Taking in said Faerie and treating him was even lower on Childe's to-do list.

Summary
“Not so fast, Slayer. Your heads worth a pretty penny, and you’re a hard brat to find.” The demon grins, “dead or alive.”
Neil struggles to breathe as the demon adds pressure to his throat.
“I’m flattered.” Neil grits out. The Slayer’s hand fumbles around in his bag until he finds what he’s looking for. He gets a grip on the familiar handle, and shoves the creature off him with a swift kick to the chest and swings his axe right into its throat before he can even hit the ground, cutting his head off in one foul swoop.
The demon’s head falls with a wet thud right next to Neil. The body lays at his knees, creating a puddle of green gooey blood around them.
Neil sits panting, bloodied axe in hand.
“Thanks for the warm welcome, Palmetto.”

Summary
Wymack’s voice trails off, words stuttering to an abrupt stop. All heads turn, slowly following the path of Wymack’s gaze.
Andrew spots him almost immediately - hair as black as night, curls gentle and full atop his head. He’s got a bruise the size of a baseball around his eye, freckles spattered out around it like an explosion of stardust. His eyes are the colour of the sky, cresting with storm clouds.
His hands are in his pockets as he walks by, fisted around something. He doesn’t look at any of them as he passes, eyes downcast.
Andrew’s never seen him before.
“What the hell happened to your face, Neil?” Wymack shouts, voice startling in the aftermath of silence. Neil doesn’t stop, plundering by the team and their coach without a second-glance.
__
In which Wymack adopts Neil at the age of 13, after the world has already chewed him up and spit him back out a few times over.
The Foxes are still the Foxes, and Neil and Andrew are still destined to find each other.

Summary
There's an old myth on Palmetto's campus: if you turn on all the taps in the old men's room, you'll summon a monster. When his new friends challenge him, Neil accepts. But, of course, Neil can never do things by the book, and nothing can be that simple in Palmetto.

Summary
Two piercing blue eyes glared at him through the darkness. They were brighter than a set of full-beam headlights, stronger than the flashing lights of Eden’s Twilight. Andrew couldn’t tear his gaze away. He couldn’t even breathe; every movement was being tracked and analysed.
“Andrew?” Renee almost slammed into his back, startled by his sudden frozen limbs.
Her flashlight illuminated the way forward, deep eye pools morphing into something else.
Something new.
Something not human.

Or whilst investigating Nathan Wesninski, Andrew finds something in the basement darker than he ever expected.
