The car screeched to an abrupt halt, tires squealing. Rosé lurched forward, bracing herself against the front seat.
“What the hell—”
Her words were cut short as Chris threw the car into park, got out, and walked briskly to her door. He yanked it open, slid into the back seat beside her, and slammed the door shut.
“You want to talk now?” he said, his voice calm but laced with tension. “Fine. Let’s talk.”
