He doesn’t expect that he’d befriend Deku on his own, even wanting to help him heal from the break-up of a long-term relationship (having experienced one himself).He really doesn’t expect to become good friends and fall in love.

Summary
Katsuki lets his eyes rove over the stranger, at skin so fair and smooth and lacking hardship, at attire better suited for rituals than hunting, let alone being out in the winter. He thinks about his village, about rations and endless prayers to nothing gods. “I don’t have time to waste on you,” he spits.
The footfalls of a large animal crunch in the snow. The stranger spins, and something metal and sharp shoots out from the robes flying about him. Quickly, the stranger carves a path through the snow the way a river cuts through mountains. The stranger’s weapon—a sword as ceremonial as the rest of his attire—is lodged in a deer.
Just who the hell is this guy?

or, Katsuki has never cared for the kamuy his village prays to, especially Aries. Spirits and gods can go fuck off for all the good they've done him. So when the harshest winter comes and no help arrives, he sets out of his vilage alone to hunt. Until he encounters a mysterious stranger with a magnetic pull and the hunting skills Katsuki lacked.

Summary
How Izuku has loved Katsuki over the years. A character and relationship study.
“You,” he says, but his voice comes out strange, thick. Katsuki clears his throat once, then continues: “You never said where you were going, nerd.”
He is seventeen years old, and he cannot make himself move. There on the precipice, his dreams dangle before him; he needs only to make that leap and that quirkless, fatherless boy will fall to the wayside for Pro Hero Deku to take his place.
But Izuku does not jump. He looks over his shoulder, and he waits. He is seventeen years old and in love, searching for the boy who was always supposed to be in front of him to find and to follow.

“You can write the check out to the children’s hospital,” he says. “Thanks!”
Fuck, Katsuki thinks as he lets the door open and takes a good look at the pink-cheeked, freckle-faced stranger he’s convinced to be his boyfriend for the night, I hate Christmas.
Katsuki realizes he’s at a singles party far too late. To escape, he asks a donation collector to be his boyfriend for the night.
