Katsuki lets his eyes rove over the stranger, at skin so fair and smooth and lacking hardship, at attire better suited for rituals than hunting, let alone being out in the winter. He thinks about his village, about rations and endless prayers to nothing gods. “I don’t have time to waste on you,” he spits.
The footfalls of a large animal crunch in the snow. The stranger spins, and something metal and sharp shoots out from the robes flying about him. Quickly, the stranger carves a path through the snow the way a river cuts through mountains. The stranger’s weapon—a sword as ceremonial as the rest of his attire—is lodged in a deer.
Just who the hell is this guy?
