Honestly, it was only a matter of time till one of them got hit with a spell. At the rate they were going, getting deeper and deeper into the sorcerer's business – despite Dr. Strange telling them not to, of course, but then, when did they ever listen – a non-immediately-lethal spell was actually the least problematic of the bunch.
Of course, there was this tiny problem of Dr. Strange killing them all for them for being idiots.
… And the fact that the most mysterious member of their small get-together seemed to know Dr. Strange, when Spiderman was the only one who refused to meet him.
