The gentle scrawl of letters looked like the vines of the flowers in the garden. It was pretty. No wonder Makoto and Nagisa were so drawn to it. There was something… fleeting in the words though. Something that made Haru’s skin crawl.

Because crimson eyes were locked onto him, a silent plea. Shizuo saw resignation, humiliation at that moment. A rawness he had never witnessed on the info broker’s face before. Izaya’s body was visibly slumped, one arm supporting himself around his torso, the other shaken as the knife clattered carelessly to the concrete.
And then everything turned into a haze of red.

Like he’s balancing a lot on this. Like he’s hoping Rin will trust him with something like he’s had to trust Rin with feeling inferior.
