"Well, okay, so, I was looking at you just now and-" He pauses, trying to figure out how to put the thought he just had into words. It appeared out of nowhere. It dawned on Mike that he had had that feeling many times, but never quite had the words for it. The way Will’s lips often seemed like the focal point of his face, rather than his eyes. He realizes he trailed off when Will speaks.
"And..?" There’s a curious edge to Will’s voice, but his eyes are still on his paper.
"-And I was looking at you, and I was like, 'Shit, I totally wanna kiss him right now.'" That seemed like a bit of an understatement. It was more like Mike felt like he was going to die if he didn’t kiss Will at some point in his life. Preferably in the next twenty minutes.

Will’s still looking straight up at the sky. The length of his neck is very, very flushed. Mike can feel his entire face going redder than Vader’s lightsaber. He clenches his hands into tiny little fists, and says, around a groan: “I’m not Han Solo, guys.”
In which Lucas has a thing for Bowie, Will has a thing for Han Solo, Mike has a thing for Will, and El should never be allowed to watch Star Wars again.

“Wow,” Will breathes out, just on this edge of teasing. “You sound very confident about this.”
“Well,” Mike shrugs, swallowing hard in a desperate attempt to soothe his very, very dry mouth, “I don’t know why someone wouldn’t be interested in you.”
“Oh?” Will says, and it’s definitely teasing now, enough for Mike to feel himself turning warm, all down his neck and to the tips of his own – sadly unpatterned – socks. “Someone?”
“Yeah.” Mike nods. Oh, god. This is fine. “In a very arbitrary sense of the word. Just– people. Someone.”
Mike is approximately ninety-eight percent sure that his feelings are requited. That last two percent, however, has really been throwing him for a loop.

“Um,” he says instead. “Huddling? For warmth?”
“For warmth,” Lucas echoes, and then looks back at Dustin again. “Huddling. For warmth.”
“Like penguins,” Mike offers, and then rests his head on Will’s shoulder like this is supposed to be helping, or something.
Will Byers and the harrowing experience of being snowed in with your mom, your almost-stepdad, all of your friends, and your (kind of) (secret) boyfriend.

Summary
“He really does look like Mike,” Lucas breathes, as he gives Mike’s twin a scan, head to toe.
“Yeah, if Mike were way hotter and a knight?” Max chips in, and Will can vaguely hear Mike muttering again. “He looks so medieval, like he’s from Camelot or some shit.”
“I am Michael,” the knight begins to plead again. He turns his doe eyes back to Will, returning to his side like a diligent guard, even going as far as to reach out and take his hands. “Please, you have to believe me. I would never lie to you. Have I ever broken our oath? Let me prove it.”
Will was a bit preoccupied with gazing into the knight’s eyes, his cheeks flushing under the intense stare and the way his hands were held so gently. Mike had no issues ruining their moment.
“And he’s weirdly obsessed with Will.” Mike sounds even angrier than he did in the woods, and his sharp tone is enough for Will to snap out of his hand-holding to step a respectable distance away from the knight. “We need to send him back to wherever he came from.”

Mike the Brave ends up in Hawkins and sweeps Will off his feet. Mike has a lot of Feelings™ about it.
