Summary
When Legolas leaves for Valinor, Thranduil loses his last hope. Legolas soon regrets his decision.
Fill for prompt (abridged): Thranduil is heart-broken after his son sails west without a backward glance, and hence had decided finally to never sail west, thus granting his son's wish to "be set free". Yet the days in Valinor finally help Legolas to understand his father's protection and love for him. He starts to look forward to seeing his father in the Undying Lands.
